Track Name: The Story Of Our Lives
Fmaj7 C Em F F G Am7 D7sus4 G
She said there’s got to be more as she threw open the door
and walked right outta my life
Grabbed my blue swede shoes and started singing the blues
everywhere and every night

I felt like a grifter or a high plains drifter
in an old John Ford Movie
Till one gray day I let it all slip away and
crashed my chevy right into the Levy

(Chorus) Fmaj7 C Am G Fmaj7 C/E D7sus4 Bbsus2 Dm7 G7sus4
And the songs that were sung are still fresh on our tongue
As a Caribbean Sunrise
Naive and bold, said we’d never grow old,
Had stars shining in our eyes
Oh but it’s all a part of the story of our lives

Headed out to LA in my old Chevrolet,
cause that’s where stories are told
But they’d taken the gold from the yellow brick road
Now it was crumbling down and old

But I stumbled on, on the wings of a song
that my gu’itar tore apart
I kept spinning my wheels so I just couldn’t feel
The big black hole I Had in my heart

And the songs that were sung are still fresh on our tongue
As a Caribbean Sunrise
Naive and bold, said we’d never grow old,
Had stars shining in our eyes
Oh but it’s all a part of the story of our lives

Then my luck began to turn, my big frown turned upside down
Guess an old dog can still learn, as long as this old world keeps
whirlin’ Round
Track Name: My Plan
(Country Swing Groove)
(E-D-A)
Ya know I’ve never been much for asking for direction
I like to find the way all on my own
Guess it’s a man thing, gettin help’s out of the question
And I figured I was meant to be alone
That’s when fait landed you right outside my door. (D-A-E)
It was then I had a purpose, I knew what I was livin for (D-B)

(Chorus)
I’ll do the dishes, you do the kisses
We’ll fill the seats in that new mini van
I’ll make the money, You Bring the honey
We’ll build a little family together, Darlin, that’s my plan

I still remember we were standing in your hallway, and
I thought that our first date had gone real swell
Well I stayed up all night and I thought about the future
Then I threw a dime in the wishing well
I struggled for a picture I could sell
It was then I knew for certain, then I heard that answer bell….

I’ll do the dishes, you do the kisses
we’ll build a palace on a big chunk of land
I’ll do the moppin , you do the shoppin
We’ll spend this whole lifetime together, Darlin that’s my plan

(chorus) OUT
Track Name: Days Of Night
This is a story of you and me, on a desert island
surrounded by the rolling sea
The winter was closing in and the rides were all shutting down
We needed to get out of this sleepy boardwalk town

Wind was growing colder in time
Started blowing over, whispering through our conscious mind

I can feel the winter crawling over me, drift across the island, to the raging sea
floating toward the spring, racing toward the light
We’ve got to make it through these Days of Night

We learned to weather any storm, kept it together
we dreamed about moving on
Waiting for our lucky break, no matter how long it takes
determined to get away, we had everything at stake

Everything gets better in time
The only thing that matters, is that you cross the finish line

I can feel the winter crawling over me, drift across the island, to the raging sea
floating toward the spring, racing toward the light
We’ve got to make it through these Days of Night

(G-D-F#sus-F#-Bm-E-Em7-A7)
Baby we’re on top of the world, nothing’s gonna break us
Ya know that nothing worth a damn is ever gonna come that easy
But I feel it in my bones, with every little beat of my heart

Lead over Verse

Everything got better in time
Honey all that matters, is we tore down that finish line

I can feel the winter crawling over me, drift across the island, to the raging sea
floating toward the spring, racing toward the light
I knew we’d make it through these Days of Night
Track Name: Can't Feel The Heartache
(G-Bm7-Am7-D7)
Lately I can’t seem to think of, any reason to want to move on
Lord knows that I can’t be bothered, to dwell upon something that’s gone

(Am7-D7-Bm7-C-A7-D7)
A little while longer, ain’t nothin but time
Till I cried enough tears, drank enough wine
The clouds lift away and ya see the sunshine

(G-D-Am7-D7, G-Bm7-Am7-D7)
Just a few more nights ending up on the floor
A few more nights where you can’t find the door
Just a few more nights till ya think you can’t take anymore
Till you can’t feel the Heartache no more..

Got me a new used piano, I’ve been playing the blues all night long
Damned if I can’t seem to let go, of these sad old 3/4 time songs

A little while longer, and I’ll come around
I’ll get it together, stop coming unwound
I’ll find myself standing on steady ground

(G-D-Am7-D7, G-Bm7-Am7-D7)
Just a few more nights ending up on the floor
A few more nights where you can’t find the door
Just a few more nights till ya think you can’t take anymore
Till you can’t feel the Heartache no more..

(Fmaj7-GX2, Am-Dwalkdown-D7-G)
24 hours a day staring out of the window since you’ve been gone
You got to have showers, to make the sunflowers and grass grow
Then you move on, then you move on

Lead Over Verse

Chorus-x2
Track Name: Southern Paradise
All my life it’s been haunting me, it’s in my blood and it fills my dreams
but I'm not afraid of livin’ anymore
Hopped a flight down to PCB like some kinda redneck refugee
Knew my life would change, as I stood upon that golden shore..Cause

This is my paradise lazy days and summer nights
Kickin’ back, There ain’t nothing any better than this life
Variety’s the spice of life, change it up, take a bite
I’m packing up my stuff, heading for a Southern Paradise.

Almost froze to death in Idaho, it was still too cold in New Mexico
Almost drowned in my own sweat in Tennessee
Now my beer’s ice cold and the girls are hot, it’s the perfect place, just the right spot
Not goin’ back to the cold, My blood’s too thin, Now I’m free!...cause

This is my paradise lazy days and summer nights
Kickin back, There ain’t nothing any better than this life
Variety’s the spice of life, change it up, take a bite
I’m packing up my stuff, heading for a Southern Paradise.

Track Name: Biggest Fool In this Town
D F#m G Em7add9 D A7sus4 A7
Why you wanna break my heart? Why ya wanna crush my dreams?
Why ya wanna tear us apart, at the seams..at the seams
Tell me who ya gonna run to when, the world comes tumbling down on you?
You’ll come runnin back again, ya know it’s true, ya know it’s true..Cause

G A D C G Em7add9 A7sus4 G D/F# Em7add9 D
I’ve had enough of this love
And your thunder clouds hovering above
I held you up, you took me down
I been the biggest fool in this town

Honey where ya gonna go from here? Can you make another brand new start?
Can ya find the strength to overcome the fear, Can ya play the part? Play the part
It’s been a while since you looked at yourself, but ya know I’m gonna give you the truth
You always needed a bit of help, followin through, followin through.....But

I’ve had enough of this love
And your thunder clouds hovering above
I held you up, you took me down
I been the biggest fool in this town

BbMaj7 C A7sus4 D
Might take some time before I get back around
I’m ridin on the wind before my feet even hit the ground

I could make another run of this town, I could tell myself I still believe
Girl I know If I was hanging around, You’d follow me, You’d follow me....but

I’ve had enough of this love
And your thunder clouds hovering above
I held you up, you took me down
I been the biggest fool in this town
Track Name: One Drink Short Of Dying
G-D/F#-C-Em-D
Many times I’ve wondered, what’s become of me
All My aspirations seemed to vanish in the sea
The Road that I should follow is right in front of me
Now I’m broke and hollow hung up in the debris

F-C-A7-D7
All the weight in this world coming down on me
I can’t kill this wicked thirst lord won’t ya hear my plea

G-D/F#-C-C-D G-D/F#-C-C/b-Am-D7
And it’s one in the morning, two in the day,
One drink in the evening to chase the blues away
and I drink Many on the weekends, just to pass the time
I’m one drink short of dying and I don’t seem to mind

I know come monday morning I’ll awake to find
I can’t recall where I’ve been since Saturday at Nine
And I can’t seem to remember but I never quite forget
Try to find some piece of mind but I end up with regret

All alone in this world, nothing left for me
I’ve been dealt a losing hand lord won’t ya set me free

And it’s one in the morning, two in the day,
One drink in the evening to chase the blues away
and I drink Many on the weekends, just to pass the time
I’m one drink short of dying and I don’t seem to mind

(Bridge) Em-D-Am-D7
I’m likely to pass out right across the railroad tracks
well it feels just like a freight train runnin right across my back

Lead over (Prechorus) F-C-A7-D7

Chorus X2 out
Track Name: Twilight
C-G-Am-F, C-G-F-C
She lets down her hair, and takes off her aprin
She strips off her makeup and turns on the TV
It’s just her and the kids now since the army took her husband
Was all she could do just to keep from losing herself

G-G7-F-G, G-G7-F-G7
She buries the hurting as long as she’s working and keeping the heartache at bay
She carries that feeling with no time for healing open wounds won’t go away

C-Dm7-Fmaj7-G7x2
And it’s twilight in this town, twilight in this town
Well it’s twilight in this town, it’s twilight and it used to be morning all day

They Closed down the Saw mill, moved it all to China
Tore it down and built a WalMart that pays ¼ what the mill used to
They boarded up mainstreet and put up a new MacDonalds
She took a job slinging whisky and beer at some redneck bar

She thinks about leaving, the drinking, and the stinkin’ foul whiskey smellin’, smoky air
She keeps on believing the money she’s making is the best she can do anywhere

Chorus

Bb-C-G Bb-Dm7-G7
She gets up every morning at 6 O’clock yawning to get all the kids off to school
She dreams about a better day a man that won’t run away and won’t make her feel like a fool

Chorus
Track Name: Goodbye LA, Hello Tennessee
Have you seen her on the scene, looks like she walked off the silver screen
Or the cover of a magazine, she’s a wild willing picture of a hometown queen

G-D/F#-A-A/G#-G-D/F#-E
Sunset Blvd, hot summer nights and cool German cars
She’s a sucker for longhaired boys with guitars

A-A7sus4-D-E-A-Aflat5-Gsus2-D/F#-E
She came out west to chase her dreams
Cause there ain’t no movie stars back east
In Hollywood baby Life’s so sweet so its
Hello LA and Goodbye Tennessee...

A year later things are tough, she never thought it would be this rough
Her momma wonders if she’s had enough of those big city lies and that
cheap fake love

Out on the town, they’re all dolled up just to get shot down
She picks herself back up off the ground

(Chorus)

F#m-F#m(maj7)-F#m7-F#m6-Bm-G-D/F#-E
After 5 long years it became quite clear, there ain’t no pot of gold
and after plenty of tears and a couple of beer she hits the highway
headed back home

Break W/Leads

(Chorus) Out

She came out west to chase her dreams
cause there ain’t no movie stars back east
In Hollywood life can be so sweet but it’s
Goodbye LA, Hello Tennessee......F#m-G
Goodbye LA, Hello Tennessee
Track Name: Take The Bottle
Came home from NAM in November of 72 nobody was around no more i wanted to talk to
so I roamed around for a for a while then I headed down south to try to wash the taste of blood out of my mouth
Ended up in Texas in the spring of 73 fell for a southern bell when she cast her eyes at me
so we settled down in Houston town to raise a family but the nightmares drove me to the bottle and the bottle drove my girl from me

Cause it takes time for you to learn to be a man
and it can take a lifetime for you to ever find true love again so
Take the bottle from my hand

Moved on to another town as another year rolled by heard tales of fortune waiting where the mountains meet the sky
So I drove up to the north country in the Summer of 75 to see if I could find a reason to stay alive
Hired on the pipeline the work was hard and it eased my mind by the time the work was done I was feelin fine
So I bought some land in Livengood where I could make a home built a cabin with my own 2 hands but a man ain’t meant to live alone

Cause it takes time for you to learn to be a man
and it can take a lifetime for you to ever find your peace again so
Take the Bottle from my hand

(Em, D/F#, G-C, Bm7, Am7, D7)
But that was years ago before I met my wife
She helped me shake the bottle and I know she saved my life

Gazing at the Northern Lights as I strum this old guitar ya know my favorite fishing hole isn’t very far
In the summertime there’s warm sunshine and in the wintertime it’s cold
and I still dream a young man’s dreams, and I don’t mind growing old

Cause it takes time for you to learn to be a man
and it can take a lifetime for you to ever come this way again so
Take the Bottle from my hand.....Take the Bottle From My Hand

Track Name: Everything's Better On Friday
The Boss said you’re gone next time you’re late,
he was on my back for the rest of the day
But I wasn’t listening anyway,
Couldn’t wipe that smile away
Cashed my check, and jumped in my cab,
had one with the boys at the Doghouse Shack
Mashed that lightning on the way to your house,
wanna leave this week behind
So baby jump inside....

It’s alright, It’s OK
Feels so good on this beautiful day
Cause I got you and I Just got paid...
It’s alright, It’s OK...
Everything’s better on Friday

The music’s sweeter and the beer is colder,
Out at the point with you on my shoulder
It’s all about you and me tonight, lets leave the week behind
it’s way past time

It’s alright, It’s OK
Feels so good on this beautiful day
Cause I got you and I got paid...

Track Name: It Ain't Enough
I used to think that love was easy, I used to think that life was fair
I used to be so naive that I thought I could see things that just weren’t there
I want to believe in something, I need to believe in truth
I guess it depends how it looks at the end of all the wanderings of youth

But I wanna know, why’ya so lonely
But I wanna know, why’ya so Blue.......
But I wanna know, why’ya angry
Oh Baby Ya got so much, but It ain’t enough

Ya thought you’d be something special, they taught ya to believe in yourself
Ya thought you were someone who’d change the world but you’re just like everybody else
You needed to find a purpose, You wanted to feel alive
You tried to forget you lost your dream to the struggle of tryin to survive

Chorus
Lead over Chorus

Now I don’t know much about contentment, But I know it’s hard to find
but I hope someday it comes my way, It’d be big load off my mind
Now I know you’ve got some questions, so honey get in line
I guess we’re supposed to try to figure it out while we walk the earth deaf and blind

But I wanna know, why am I lonely
But I wanna know, why am I Blue.......
But I wanna know, why am I angry
Oh Baby I got so much, but It ain’t enough

It ain’t enough, why am i lonely
It ain’t enough, why am I Blue.......
It ain’t enough, why am I angry
Oh Ya know I got so much, but It ain’t enough

LAST NIGHT IN A WHISKY DREAM
THE DEVIL TEMPTED ME WITH PARADISE
SHOWED ME A MOUNTAIN MADE OF GOLD, BET MY SOUL
AND CLIMB IT N’ IT WAS MINE
HE SPIT FIRE as I got TO THE TOP
SMILIN’ DOWN’ I YELLED OUT LOUD IS THIS THE BEST YOU’VE GOT

CAUSE I KNOW A MOUNTAIN
THAT I’M STILL CLIMBIN’
I KEEP TRYIN’
BUT I’M NOT OVER HER YET
IT KEEPS GETTING HIGHER
WHEN I THINK ABOUT HER
AND I CAN’T FORGET HER
SO DEVIL SAVE YOUR BREATH
IF YOU CALL THIS A MOUNTAIN
I’M NOT IMPRESSED

THE MOUNTAIN CRUMBLED AND TURNED TO DUST
I HEARD HIM SWEAR AND CUSS AS I FELL
A CRYSTAL CANYON SWALLOWED ME
SO DEEP I COULD FEEL THE FLAMES OF HELL
HE THREW HIS PITCHFORK AT ME as I got TO THE TOP
SMILIN’ DOWN I YELLED OUT LOUD IS THIS THE BEST YOU’VE GOT

CAUSE I KNOW A CANYON
WHERE SHE LEFT ME STANDIN
I’M STLL STRANDED
I HAVEN’T CRAWLED OUT YET
IT KEEPS GETTING DEEPER
WHEN I THINK ABOUT HER
AND I CAN’T FORGET HER
SO DEVIL SAVE YOUR BREATH
IF YOU CALL THIS A CANYON I’M NOT IMPRESSED

BRIDGE- Am D7 C CD G C A Fmaj7 D7
MOLTEN LAVA OOZED UP FROM THE GROUND
AS FIERY DEMONS TRIED TO HOLD ME DOWN
BUT I threw THEM OFF LAUGHED AND SHOOK MY HEAD
SATAN’S HORNS WERE SHAKIN’ WHEN I STOOD UP AND SAID

I KNOW A HELL
WHERE I’VE SENT MYSELF
NO PRAYERS WILL HELP
I’M AS DAMNED AS I CAN GET
IT KEEPS GETTING HOTTER
WHEN I THINK ABOUT HER
AND I CAN’T FORGET HER
SO DEVIL SAVE YOUR BREATH
IF YOU CALL THIS HELL
